The importance of continuous training
Every area of aviation requires extensive and continuous training: the flight deck, cabin crew, maintenance staff, air traffic controllers, and aviation safety.
ULD Operations and Handling is no exception, but the almost unique manner in which ULDs are handled by various parties both on and off airports makes maintaining an acceptable standard of knowledge a particularly challenging task.
Delivering cost-effective ULD training is difficult. The subject is not exactly suitable for a classroom environment and conducting any kind of meaningful training activities in the cargo or ramp zones is not practical. Online training is a partial solution, but it has its limits, particularly when it comes to determining the amount of information the trainee has retained.
ULD CARE provides solutions to the industry
Here are the initiatives in regard to training that ULD CARE has developed.
Free training videos
In collaboration with Airport College, ULD CARE developed a series of 60 seconds long video that convey basic principles of safe and efficient ULD operations using effective video techniques. Given the challenging physical conditions and high personnel turnover that characterize many operating environments in the industry, the training of the workforce who handle the ULDs is a daily challenge. Having a simple but effective training solution is the answer to reduce damage and repair costs as well as increase safety. ULD 60 seconds is a free tool offering 60 seconds awareness videos about safe ULD inspection, handling and storage.
ULD CARE TRAINING WEBINAR
ULD CARE is pleased to present a 90-minute webinar with a live VR training demonstration focusing on the potential for this increasingly mainstream technology to deliver affordable, measurable training across the air cargo ecosystem. The webinar also features a panel session with stakeholders from various sectors of the aviation industry.
Affordable and Measurable ULD
Safety Training with Virtual Reality
Enter Virtual Reality
Anyone who has experienced Virtual Reality gaming will know just how amazingly lifelike VR can be. And furthermore, as a rapidly developing commercial product this is a technology that can be expected to both develop at a rapid pace while getting more affordable by the month.
ULD CARE, in collaboration with industry leaders Airport College now have VR enabled training for both inspection of a container and inspection of a pallet and net available from the Airport College platform, with plans already in hand for additional subjects.
